Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is an Mexican American journalist. Her current role is working as a sportscaster at ESPN and is anchor for SportsCenter as well as hosting SportsNation. The first time she worked for ESPN in 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a TV reporter. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual since she was nine years old. It was a helpful skill that helped her secure her first job in the production department at Univision in Miami which allowed her to work with the producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then, she was hired by the CBS affiliate of St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. In 2009 she moved from Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an anchor for the newscast of the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009 she made the move to Rio Grande Valley in Texas, where she became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She was also frequently required to act as a sports or weather anchor. Then she anchor and wrote for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was granted more responsibilities. She was a reporter for the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason and the finals of FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was made a anchoring sports for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In addition, she served as a sports anchor in Primer Impacto, a magazine program that airs on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail from Veracruz Mexico. Eventually, they settled in Mexico City and she was born there on the 22nd of November the 22nd of November, 1985. There is an older sister. In 1992 the family left Mexico to the US and settled in Miami. The couple divorced soon after and, in 1995, she married a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. The summer of the year 2006, Antonietta took an entire week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working at the time. Antonietta was about to graduate from high school, however she knew her plans for what she would be doing. It was a beautiful campus as well as offered the level of education she sought. She completed her schooling and was accepted to the University as a major in media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a student in her class, formed a lasting relationship with the student. He encouraged her to be self-confident and his passion for journalism deeply influenced her, and she in turn, strived to fulfill his standards and never fail him.
